Will of Geradis Lock
His name is often found to be spelled Garadus, Giradus, Gerades, and other similar spellings. 
A question mark ? will be next to words that I wasn't 100% sure of the word. So there will be some errors in this transcription due to a poor copy of the will. 
The copy of the will was faxed to me and it isn't a very good copy, but it will give you the general idea of what is contained with in this will. 
I can not recall who sent me this will, but I thank you for taking the time to fax it to me so it could be made available for everyone. 
Geradis Lock married Mary Bradley May 13, 1795 in Mercer County, Kentucky

Monroe County, Illinois
 November 28?th, 1825

I Geradis Lock of said county being weak in body, but in perfect mind am of maturity? do make this my last will and testament. 
First it is my will that after my death that my body shall buried in a decent burial manor? in of my estate. 
Secondly that it is my will and
division? that all my ----? debts shall be paid
3rd Item,  I give and bequeath onto my two sons Namely to wit? Geradis and Reuben Lock the plantations I now will on after my death to be divided as follows. 
To will the dividing line to the east? and west? Geradis Lock it to have the south half with the improvement it is my request that the tract shall be ----? and whatever the difference it shall be made equal out of the personal property  
5th, I leave and bequeath onto my son Elisha Lock a certain tract of land lying and situated on the big lake the plantation Samuel Lock now resides on after my death to be valued and made equal to the other track by value and paid and made equal as before mentioned
6th Item, I give and bequeath onto John Lock my son one black and white cow, one sow and pig, one ewe if my flock consists of more then four ewe's. 
Item, It is my will that after death, all my property -----?  my two males? or ----? what is astinalty? well, shall be sold at public petion (Auction?) and all my just debts satisfied and the remaining I laeve to my this youngest son Naturaly to wit? 
Gerades Elisha and Rueben Lock equally divided between them song?
 I leave to the son of Moses? Lock, Geradis my grand son one horse to the value of fifty dollars to be paid by the before mentioned heirs out of the legacy left them of the suffecent? aftermy will is discharged

Item to my son in law, one cow and ewe.
Third cons---? and appoint Samuel Lock my executor of the my last will and testament. It is my will and decision as soon as the said  heirs become capable of recieving their dowery it to be paid and p----? given? them?
